Final phase of Holliday Wharf

Aug 18 2006

A new show apartment has been opened to mark the final phase of Holliday Wharf, canalside apartments by Charles Church close to the Mailbox in central Birmingham.

Some 85 per cent of the homes have been sold, mainly to owner occupiers, professionals and downsizers keen to try city living.

There are 24 apartments left to buy, ranging from 513 to 1,564 sq ft, so offering a chance at larger-than-average city pads for the bigger spenders.

"Holliday Wharf is one of a selection of developments that has enticed city livers to the waterside. Indeed, the newly-completed development has made a contemporary addition to Birmingham's booming canalside residential scene," said Joanne Clarke of the selling agents, Knight Frank.

"The striking wooden façade looks fantastic reflected into the canal, and the waterside apartments with stun-ning external balconies and terraces are some of the most sought-after in the city."

The newly-finished show property has views over Holliday Wharf's courtyard at the heart of the scheme. The housebuilder is also planning to unveil a specially-commissioned piece of sculpture as a centrepiece.

This is being created by artist Cathy Lewis, depicting an acrobat. It marks the history of the site, once a busy marketplace where there was daily street entertainment.

The last available apartments come in a variety of layouts and with different views, all but one with private parking included.

Features include full height glazing, balconies and terraces and some designs come with a split level design.

The new two bedroom shop apartment is one of these duplex layouts. It has double doors between reception and living areas and just one room on the lower level, potentially a second bedroom, reached either from the main corridor or the living area.

This offers scope for alternative uses, suggests the housebuilder, creating a home office or further sitting room.

There are further apartments on offer in this final phase with a split level layout. Other features include kitchens by Wellman, appliances by Smeg and designer bathroom fittings.

Holliday Wharf has provided a total of 155 apartments from one to three bedrooms including seven penthouses, all sold. At ground level are five commercial units.

The show home is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, details from 0121 633 9283 or from Knight Frank, 0121 200 2220.
